KAKURAのこと―ABOUT KAKURA

Our name, KAKURA, comes from the name of ethnic group - the Kakura. Ishihara Yukari - the owner of KAKURA Shop, designer and producer of all of our creations - drew inspiration for her philosophy and creativity from the wisdom of the aboriginal peoples, who coexist with nature and never forget that, which matters most. We have always tried to create things which touch people’s hearts. Not consumed and quickly forgotten, but used for years and years with affection and care. This is the goal we - I, and the staff of our workshop - never forget.

P.S.
We at KAKURA always seek for new ideas and suggest possible innovations to each other. Through a long process of working with material, of learning its peculiarities through trial and error and ever trying to improve we build a strong sense of self-assurance. This self-assurance gives each of us pride, laying the foundation for a perfectly balanced collective. The sure-footed knowledge gained from experience - this is what we build with. It is embodied in each of our creations. And this is the way of KAKURA.
